Dear Phamieo,
What kind of Poem would you prefer?
The easiest way to write poem is HAIKU. You can have DR. KING as acronyms or have his qoute as acronyms and write about the civil rights to fight for peace and justice.
Here is a simple example of a Haiku:
Dr. King
"DIVE OUT! DIVE OUT of INQUALITIES and INJUSTICES!"
Riots arrived, he stood up and shouted
King died for peace, but his light never went out
I am living underneath his dream
Not only for I have a heart know how to scream, but
Generation of inequalities and injustice links to my children's generations
You may want to find another way to write the poem in your own word.
Goodluck

Wow neither do I! I never write a poem that long.
In general, we write a sentence of 10 words. So in order to write a poem of 300 words, we need to have 30 sentences.
Are you sure your teacher want you to write a poem??? I think you may want to ask your teacher again. Usually, no one force their students to write such poem because how often can people control their stream of thoughts in a correct rhyme, rhythym, etc....
