Apple sugar cookies (Makes 4 dozen) (sưu tầm )

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter ,softened
3/4 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 and 1/4 cups all -purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 small red delicious apple
1 egg white
cinnamon for sprinkling

1. Heat oven to 450.o F with one rack centered. With an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar on high speed until fluffy, about 5 minutes. With mixer on medium, add egg and vanilla, and mix until combined. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. With mixer, add flour mixture in three parts to butter -egg mixture until thoroughly blended.Chill dough for 1 hour.
2.Slice apples as thinly as possible.Roll out dough to 1/8 -inch thickness, then cut into apple-slice-size circles. Brush tops of circles with egg white. Place an apple slice on top of each circle, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake until delicately brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes on a baking sheet, then remove to a wire rack, top side up.
