Thiện nam tử! Bồ Tát còn có tên là "Bố Thí Tất Cả". Người nào thường bố thí với tâm thanh tịnh thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả; tuy ít của cải mà vẫn có thể bố thí thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả; đối với vật mình ưa thích mà có thể phá trừ tâm bỏn sẻn để bố thí thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả; bố thí mà không cầu quả báo thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả; lúc bố thí, không phân biệt là phước điền hay không phước điền thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả; bố thí bình đẳng cho người thân kẻ thù thì gọi là Bố thí tất cả. Good son, a Bodhisattva means one who can practice universal giving. What it means by universal giving? Good son, a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva seeks wealth according to the Dharma and gives it away, this is called universal giving. He always gives with pure thoughts, this is called universal giving. He might possess little but is willing to give it away, this is called universal giving. He is able to give away what he loves and to break stinginess, this is called universal giving. Giving without seeking rewards is called universal giving. When giving he does not care if the receiver is a field of blessings or not, this is called universal giving. He gives to foes and friends equally, this is called universal giving. The Sutra On Upāsaka Precepts, chapter nineteen.
